Mother Roasting

Please check out my article entitled, "Mother Roasting" at Rhythm of the Home's fabulous and inspiring online parenting/craft magazine. My article contains a how-to on preparing a nurturing postpartum gift basket, or experience for you or a friend. It also speaks a bit about postpartum practices worldwide, where warmth and nourishing of new mothers and babies is an art form.

There are some intriguing articles and craft tutorials from this season's edition that I can't wait to dive into. If you've been directed here from Rhythm of the Home, welcome and thanks for visiting!

Lovely article. My husband is Malaysian and told me about all the ways they take care of the mother there. When I called a massage place here though in Canada they said they don't make housecalls (Malaysia does) and that I would have had to go to their office. No thank you. I could barely move after having my 10th kid! Alhumdullilah though that dh took care of the kids and everything around the house. Southeast asian guys know how to take care of mothers.

  8. Hello! I loved your article in Rhythm of the Home. I'm wondering if you can tell me where to find such a beautiful belly-binding sash. The commercially-available ones are kind of ugly!

  9. Thanks Monica! The commercial ones are ugly, and you don't need to spend so much money on one. Just buy some slightly stretchy fabric, about 3 1/2 - 5 yards depending on your size. Then just cut 12" strips down the long edge of the fabric. You can hem around the edges, but it's not necessary. That's it. You will have about three from this. Best wishes to you and yours!!
